12/16/2023 0 Comments Zen bowling ball specs![]() ![]() ![]() I can see the Soul being the first ball out of my bag in league because the Zen Master reads too early due to the high friction surface and the Zen can sometimes go too long on the fresh pattern. It clears the front of the lane easier than the Zen Master and picks up sooner than the Zen, while providing great continuous motion through the pins. The Soul looked amazing right from the start and will definitely have a spot in my bag for league and tournaments. 051Īfter the success of the Zen and Zen Master, there was no doubt that the Zen Soul would be phenomenal! It completes the “Zen Trilogy” with the S77 Response Hybrid Coverstock and is the perfect fit between its solid and pearl predecessors. You could choose one of the two and pair it with the Zen for a nice 1-2 punch.Ĭoverstock: S77 Response Hybrid - Finish 4000 Grit Abralon ![]() My final thoughts are I don’t think a person needs both the Zen Soul and Zen Master. The Zen Soul has the Daredevil Trick color vibe going for it, which I like. I am interested in seeing what the Zen Soul will do on a little more oil and my normal release. I moved 2 and 1 right with the Zen from the Zen Soul and was lined up immediately. The Zen Soul as a little rounder/longer hook spot than the Zen but still continuous. It is definitely a little stronger and earlier than the original Zen. The Zen Soul looked really good playing straight, just inside the oil line at both tournaments. I have thrown the Zen Soul in a couple tournaments. I must say though that I am going to drill another Zen Master with my favorite drill so it may become a favorite as well. The Zen ball “good” and the Zen Master not as good for me but does have some good characteristics. It makes sense to combine the best characteristics from the Zen and Zen Master. ![]() The 900 Global Zen Soul utilizes the S77 hybrid coverstock with the Mediate core. Testing information: 41 foot - 24.2 ml and 5.66:1 ratio Rev Rate: 325 rpm, 7 degree of axis tilt, 40 degree of axis rotation The Zen Soul is forgiving and hits like a truck! The Ball reads the mid lane well and makes a strong back end move. The Zen Soul is another very good and strong ball by Global. I feel this is another excellent entry into the strong ball category. Just make small adjustments and let it do its thing. The Soul is also a ball you can stay with for a while before it goes back in the bag. I see this ball being almost a must have for folks who love the original Zen. The Response to this ball has been good and demand has been very high. The Zen Soul would fit between the Gem and the Phase 2 in my bag. This ball strikes a lot and has a forgiveness factor for poor shots that I see in a lot of bigger core symmetric balls. The Zen Soul, for me, hooks more than the Zen Master but I think it is because of the way it responds to dry boards. For me, the Zen Soul hooks almost as much as the Gem but responds stronger to friction. This is a ball you can trust to just roll good and hit. The Soul reads the mid lane very well and then seems to pick up revs and drive as it makes the turn. The Zen Soul has quickly become one of my favorite balls to roll right now. His ball retained more energy than the Aspect, providing less hook but more downlane motion. The new Global Zen Soul is a big hooking Hybrid version of the Original Zen. The Ordnance C4 picked up and provided enough overall hook for him to have no trouble on this pattern. The dull box finish gave Cranker the best reaction of the three testers on the heavy oil pattern. The hybrid cover of the Ordnance C4 gave all three testers more length and a sharper move off the dry than the Ordnance, with more total hook than the Ordnance Pearl. The Shrapnel 2.0 Symmetric core gives the Ordnance C4 a slightly higher RG and a slightly lower differential than the Shrapnel Symmetric core that was used in the original solid-covered Ordnance. It uses a new version of the symmetrical Shrapnel core and a hybrid version of the very popular S70 coverstock, sanded at 4000 Abralon. The Ordnance C4 joins the Honey Badger Revival in the current Tour Preferred 700 series line from 900 Global. ![]()
